Grant Adds JAMESTOWN to Montrose Home Plans

Categories: Featured Home Plans, New Neighborhoods | Posted: February 17, 2012 | No Comments »

Grant & Co. is making plans for another new home in Montrose DeSoto County’s premier new home neighborhood.
THE JAMESTOWN – another newly designed home plan – will make its debut in Montrose this spring. This elegant, four bedroom, three bath home features a breakfast bay, hearth room, formal dining room, bayed sitting area in the master bedroom and a second bedroom on the main floor. Upstairs there are two more bedrooms with an optional fifth bedroom, jack & jill bathroom, bonus room, and a loft overlooking the great room. Arched openings in the dining room and in the entry into the master bedroom suite make this home open and airy. As with all Grant homes, THE JAMESTOWN is an exclusive home plan designed especially for Grant & Co.
All homes in Montrose include granite kitchen countertops, oil rubbed bronze faucets, 42-inch Cardell-Milano cabinetry with large crown molding, double ovens & cooktop, hardwood in the entry, dining room, and great room, smooth ceilings, upgraded interior lighting and double garage with two remote openers.
Montrose is an exclusive neighborhood featuring large, wooded lots. The neighborhood is centrally located on Church Rd. just west of Hwy. 305 and east of Craft Rd. in Olive Branch. Since this neighborhood is not located within the city limits of Olive Branch, there are no city taxes. Children in Montrose attend Pleasant Hill Elementary  (one of the few schools to receive a 10 out of 10 rating by Great Schools) and DeSoto Central High.

If you are thinking about a new home…Consider this!

Contrary to what you may see in the evening news, new home sales are actually UP in all Grant & Co. neighborhoods in Shelby County, TN and DeSoto County, MS. And, we are excited about what’s happening in our neck of the woods.
Things have definitely changed in the new home sales business over the past couple of years, but that doesn’t mean that the changes have all been bad. Our buyers are finding out that now is a great time to build a new home compared to other housing opportunities they are looking at.
We all know that interest rates are at an all-time low, and that is a positive thing, but there are other reasons to consider buying a new home, according to Trulia, a premier home sales website. Let’s take a look at some of them.
1. Value. Homebuyers looking for more value tend to be more cautious in their home purchase than they were maybe a few years ago. If you’re investing your hard earned money, you want to make sure you’re in an area that offers a high quality of life and offers a good resale opportunity. At Grant, we see homebuyers who are looking for a neighborhood with lifestyle amenities- a place where they can get to know their neighbors, entertain friends and family, and have memorable experiences. Homebuyers have been paying more attention in recent months in finding not only the “right price”, but what’s equally important is finding the “right home” and the right neighborhood.
That’s why our newest neighborhood in Arlington, Kensington, features a community swimming pool, walking trails and play spaces. Our Active Adult 55+ neighborhood in Lakeland, Sterling Place, is gorgeous with its lakes, fountains, walking trail, and gazebo. These amenities not only can be enjoyed by the homeowner for years, but can also add to the resale value of the home.
2. Feeling of Security. All Grant homes are located in quality planned communities, which can help give homebuyers a feeling of security. When asked what people look for when they shop for a new home, many say they’re looking for a sense of community. Planned communities help provide the lifestyle that makes a house a home. The statement entry helps give a sense of arrival, a creative land plan allows for recreational areas and slower traffic. A more attractive streetscape is accomplished through unique and distinctive architectural guidelines, enhanced landscaping and, of course, our quality team of homebuilders. All Grant neighborhoods have protective covenants that also protect value and help control the overall look and feel of our communities. New homebuyers also gain a sense of security through Grant’s One Year Builder Warranty and various manufacturing warranties. It’s less out-of-pocket expense for the homeowner.

The Grant Family of Home Builders

3. Reputable Homebuilders. Grant & Co. is a family-owned, family operated business that has been building new homes throughout the Mid-South for more than 60 years – non-stop. Grant builds model homes in most neighborhoods to feature options and upgrades that are available to homebuyers and to present an idea of what the neighborhood is all about. Grant is also one of the few builders to maintain a good inventory of homes under construction.

Meet Lisa Hendrix

Lisa Hendrix brings a little Cajun spice to the Grant & Co. Sales Team. Coming from a large family in New Orleans, Lisa knows a thing or two about family homes and she puts that knowledge to work as the Grant Sales Associate in the Maplebrook and Forest Hill neighborhoods in Olive Branch.
“The best part of my job is getting to know my clients and understanding what they are looking for when they come into my model home,” she said. “Once I understand their needs, I know which Grant home plan and in which neighborhood they would be happiest. A happy homebuyer is my greatest reward.”
Lisa is the primary sales representative in Maplebrook – a neighborhood located in the heart of Olive Branch, just down the street from the Olive Branch YMCA, Olive Branch City Park and the Maple Memorial Methodist Church.  Maplebrook features unique “cottage style” homes on smaller lots, a close-knit, neighborly community.

She, along with fellow Grant sales associate, Lisa Bryan, also sells Forest Hill, a Grant & Co. neighborhood on Center Hill Road in Olive Branch.  Forest Hill features family homes on larger lots located adjacent to DeSoto County’s Blue Ribbon School, Center Hill School.
“I love bringing new homeowners to Olive Branch,” Lisa said. “There are so many wonderful things about this small city like all the antique shops at Old Towne Olive Branch, the amazing library here, the award-winning Olive Branch City Park. Olive Branch feels like a million miles away from the big city, but it really is just minutes to Collierville, the Memphis airport area, medical facilities, and entertainment. You get everything you need from the big city next door and everything you want from small town living.”
Lisa came to the Mid-South in 1990 after earning her undergraduate degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and her Master’s Degree from Jacksonville Theological Seminary in Christian Psychology. She earned her real estate license in 2001 and has been working with the Grant & Co. Sales Team for the past three years. She and her husband, Gerald, along with their four dogs and two cats, live on a mini-farm (three acres) in the rural community of Barton, just north of Olive Branch.
When she is not at the Maplebrook model home, Lisa stays busy at home and with her church work. She is a creative cook – blending southern recipe favorites with just a touch of her Cajun influence. She loves animals, gardening, books and family.  To find out more about Maplebrook or Forest Hill communities, get Lisa’s contact information by clicking here.

The Chesapeake

Categories: Featured Home Plans | Posted: January 24, 2012 | No Comments »

One of Grant and Co.’s most loved home plans, THE CHESAPEAKE, has undergone several facelifts to become the company’s top selling home design.

As with all Grant & Co. designs, the Chesapeake has evolved and developed over the years as homebuyers made recommendations for changes in the plan.  “Buyers know what is important in their daily lives and they want a home that suits their lifestyle,” said Keith Grant, Co-Owner of Keith and David Grant Homes, LLC, a Grant & Co. builder.

Grant & Co. listens.  A tweak here and there, a wall moved slightly, an additional bedroom, a little larger window – all of these things add up to an improved floor plan.

Today’s Chesapeake features a roomy and private master suite that encompasses most of one side of the home.  The master bath is detailed with a jetted whirlpool tub, walk-in shower, his/hers vanities, and spacious walk-in closet.  For family time, there is a wonderful hearth room with a corner fireplace, TV niche and large window overlooking the backyard.  There is also a covered back porch for grilling and relaxing during warm months.   The breakfast area is sunlit by a pretty bay window.  Right off the kitchen is a formal dining room and the two story great room.

Unlike most other traditional floor plans, the Chesapeake has a second bedroom on the first floor.  This bedroom is ideal for a new baby’s nursery or can be used as a home office.  Upstairs there is a 21X13 ft. playroom flanked by two more bedrooms and a children’s bathroom.  There is also a fifth bedroom option on the second floor – great for a growing family or an additional recreational space.

There are three very different front elevations for this plan – a French country look, a southern traditional look and a more modern traditional look.  There are also hundreds of ways to “customize” this home in the Grant & Co. Design Studio.

The Chesapeake is offered in Kyle’s Creek, Mitchell’s Corner and Montrose in Olive Branch, MS; in Bartlett Pointe in Bartlett, TN; and in Kensington and Hayesville in Arlington, TN.

2012 Brings Exciting New Options

Sneak Peek at the New King Spa Shower

All of us who like the idea of standing in a nice, warm summer rain will love the Grant’s new King Spa Shower option which features Moen’s “Immersion InvigoRain™ Rainshower” showerhead.
The rainfall showerhead featured in this new option is constructed with Moen’s trademark “immersion/invigo” technology. Water is channeled through a spoke design on the showerhead which concentrates and magnifies the natural force of the water to dramatically enhance your shower experience. Step into the shower and wash cares away with a rain shower showerhead that provides enough pressure to deliver an invigorating, full body shower.
Most rain shower showerheads are gravity-fed so the water collects in the showerhead and slowly trickles out, creating a low-pressure drooping effect. InvigoRain is self-pressurizing. It channels the water out of the showerhead for maximum water force and coverage – for a more sought-after shower experience.
The King Spa Shower custom option includes not only this unique rainfall shower head, but also an additional Moen shower head, bench seating, and either glass block (cool!!) or frameless glass and tile walls. Each spacious shower is designed according to the home plan and incorporated into the design of the master bathroom for maximum use of space – not arbitrarily stuck out into the middle of the bathroom, which often creates a carwash-looking shower. The new design allows homeowners to have the luxury of a larger, more glamorous shower with a relaxing shower experience and still maintain the warmth and water efficiency they need.
While our new King Spa Shower option ensures a relaxing, home-spa experience, Grant is intent on providing energy efficient features in all our homes. Grant uses only Moen WaterSense™ faucets – all of which are certified by the EPA to meet water efficiency standards.

Grant & Co. – Home to Top Companies’ Employees

Categories: Uncategorized | Posted: December 13, 2011 | 2 Comments »

The greater Memphis area, including Olive Branch, Arlington, Lakeland, and Bartlett, reaps the benefits of having many outstanding industries and companies that employ thousands of Mid-Southerners. All of us at Grant & Co. are pleased that many of these employees come home every evening to a Grant neighborhood.
Memphis is home to three Fortune 500 company headquarters: FedEx, AutoZone, and International Paper – which employ thousands of residents in Shelby County and DeSoto County and the surrounding areas. Most recently, this area welcomed Electrolux, which will bring between 1,500 and 2,000 jobs to its Memphis location in 2012. Other internationally known companies with bases in Memphis include  St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Methodist Health Care Systems, Baptist Memorial Healthcare, Smith & Nephew, Nike, Inc., UPS, and the Naval Support Base in Millington.
Many of these companies transfer employees into this area during the last quarter of the year. In order to accommodate these new families, Grant is offering new homes in every single neighborhood from Olive Branch to Arlington that are MOVE IN READY! Usually, families moving into our area for job opportunities cannot wait six to ten months for a new home. Memphis City, Shelby County and DeSoto County schools start second semester the first week in January. Families can be moved into and settled before the children head back to school. Transferring into a new area can be a little nerve-racking. The Grant & Co. Sales Team is the most experienced group of real estate agents in the Mid-South and will help make the move as easy and pleasant as possible with not only all you need to know about our new homes, but information about schools, entertainment, medical facilities, transportation and worship centers.
Wherever you work – from First Tennessee Bank in downtown Memphis to the Memphis International Airport in East Shelby County, Grant has a new home in a neighborhood close to your job. For a complete list of available homes, click on the Quick Move-In tab at the top of our homepage at http://grantnewhomes.com/home

Grant & Co. New Home Agent: Meet Lisa Beard Bryan

Categories: Grant & Company Sales Agents | Posted: November 16, 2011 | No Comments »

Lisa Beard Bryan is a Grant & Company new home sales representative, an avid Ole Miss fan, and a closet beach bum.  With her natural enthusiastic nature, Lisa often serves as the unofficial cheerleader for the Grant & Company Sales Team. Whether she is working to get a first time buyer a good finance program for a new home or cheering on her beloved Rebels, Lisa’s positive energy is infectious to those around her.

“I just love selling new homes,” said the petite, dark-haired mother of one who has been in the real estate business for almost 12 years. “Everyone wants a new home and I love the opportunity to help families with the most important purchase of their lives.”

Lisa and her son, Dillon, and her Malti-Poo, Prissy, live in DeSoto County. She is a member of the Hernando Church of Christ. Lisa attended the University of Mississippi.

Lisa represents Grant & Company Builders in the Kyle’s Creek and Forest Hill communities in Olive Branch, MS. Olive Branch was recently named one of the Top Ten Fastest Growing Cities in the USA by Forbes Magazine.

“It is so exciting to show clients all of the move-in-ready homes I have available in Kyle’s Creek and Forest Hill,” said Bryan. I also like that Grant gives our clients the opportunity to choose a floor plan and build a new home unique to their family wants and needs. A trip to our Design Center is an amazing part of the process. I enjoy being with my clients every step of the way, holding their hand through the process of building and seeing them realize their dreams of owning a new home. The joy this whole experience gives me is what makes my job perfect for me.”

You might say that Lisa was raised on good business sense and customer service. Her mother has owned & operated Center Stage Fashions in Hernando for the past 35 years and Lisa grew up in the business.

“I appreciate that Grant has been family owned and operated for the past 65 years,” she said. “It means a lot to me to know that this company has survived and thrived for more than half a century and has maintained and built upon generations of a strong work ethic and solid customer service. Grant has been here for all the good times and hard times and will continue to provide quality homes for years to come.”
